Mrs. Samantha Hartman recognized her desire to be a teacher while attending the University of Towson, graduating two years ago. After college, Hartman was a long-term sub at Frederick High School.

Hartman is teaching yearlong common core Algebra I and Algebra III. She said she looks forward to getting to know her students.

“I was a part of the band geeks in high school,” said Hartman, who was the color guard captain. Hartman’s favorite teacher in high school was her band director, Mrs. H, because she knew all of the students on a personal level.

The romantic comedy film Must Love Dogs describes Hartman’s personality, which she defines as being “outdoorsy.” She’s either at the river kayaking, or playing with her two dogs.

As Hartman begins her career at Linganore High School, she hopes to one day teach statistics, because she enjoyed teaching it at Frederick High School.
