For any Fellowship of Christian Athlete Club Members looking for some community service hours, volunteers are needed to work the upcoming Lancer Candy Lane event scheduled for Saturday, December 7th from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Please sign up to work a two hour shift at the FCA Candy Cane ornament table. The sign-up sheet can be found at Ms. Becker’s Office in Student Services.

The Robotics Team will be holding an after school meeting tomorrow, December 4th, in Mr. Bergeron’s room. The meeting will start right after school and end at 5 PM.

Students must return their Unified Bocce Ball information sheets to Mr. Sunkel in Room A139 by this Friday December 6th.

Just a reminder to all Animals 101 club members: be sure to bring your Hemps Sandwich Sale order forms and money to the December club meeting on this Wednesday, December 4th. If you need another sales form see Mrs. Burall in B111.

Last Thursday, seven Lancer musicians performed with the 2013 Tournament of Bands All-Star Marching Band, for Philadelphia’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Linganore has more representatives in this group than any other Maryland high school. Participants included Lauren Regulinski, Allison deBlois, Zachary Miller, Elizabeth Hushour, Colt Merwin, Julia Peigh, and Tim Taylor. Congratulations to these outstanding students!

Good Year Tires has given Linganore 1400 postcards for the students and staff to write to our troops overseas. Help support the troops by writing on one of these postcards, which will we sent out during the upcoming holidays. For anyone interested, there are tons of postcards left! Stop by room C219 anytime by December 3rd to pick one up.

The Linganore Varsity Football team took home another win last Friday night in a close match against River Hill. The Lancers now advance to the 3A State Championship game against Franklin. Come out and support the team this Thursday night at M&T Bank Stadium.

I Drive Smart, a driver-education company offering classes in our area, has partnered with the LHS Sports Boosters. I Drive Smart employs police officers to provide 100% of their instruction. The I Drive Smart program is extremely safety-oriented and offers a stress-free experience for busy parents, with the ability to register, schedule (and reschedule) all sessions, and complete all required paperwork for the MVA online. For every Linganore student who registers for one of their packages through December 31, 2013, I Drive Smart will donate $25 to the LHS Sports Boosters. Enter Linganore as your child’s school during registration to ensure a donation to the LHS Sports Boosters. The exam registration period for fall and yearlong AP classes will be held the week of December 2-6. Students must return their completed registration form along with the exam fee of $89 per exam to Ms. Smith in the assistant principal’s office. Fee waivers are available for any student who demonstrates financial need. If your family requires assistance with the exam fee, the completed waiver form must be returned with the registration form.

The Lady Lancers club is holding a Cinderella’s closet drive. Drop off any gently used clothes from now until December 3rd at Ms. Ferguson’s office. The clothes will be sold at a discounted price at Lancer Candy Cane Lane on December 7th. The money and any extra clothing will be donated to a local charity.
