The digital communications class is producing a lip dub! What’s a lip dub you ask? Well, find out by searching “high school lip dub” on YouTube to see examples of what other high schools have produced. Auditions for anyone who wants to be a “lip dubber” will be held on December 11th in room B204. Audition information will be posted outside the B204 and in the cafeteria you can also email [email protected] for more information.

Good Year Tires has given Linganore 1400 postcards for the students and staff to write to our troops overseas. Help support our troops by writing on one of these postcards, which will be sent out during the upcoming holidays. For anyone interested, there are tons of postcards left! Stop by room C219 any time before December 3rd to pick one up.

Everyone participating in No Shave November, do not shave until after December 2nd. The Linganore Men’s Society is holding a facial hair contest. On December 2nd, members will make an announcement in each lunch shift for all who participated to come up and have their picture taken along with their name and age. At the end of the week, winners will be decided and prizes will be given out for the winners. Any questions, contact Mr. Lazarus or Bobby Ayers.

The Linganore Varsity football team crushed Urbana last Friday night with a score of 51 to 13, making them the 3A West Regional Champions! The team will host River Hill in the 3A State Semi-finals this Friday night at 7pm. Come out and show your support for the team, as some of them play their last match in a high school stadium.

Just a reminder: any student interested in applying to volunteer at the National Aquarium in Baltimore this summer, the applications are due to room C103 by December 4th.

I Drive Smart, a driver-education company offering classes in our area, has partnered with the LHS Sports Boosters. I Drive Smart employs police officers to provide 100% of their instruction. The I Drive Smart program is extremely safety-oriented and offers a stress-free experience for busy parents, with the ability to register, schedule (and reschedule) all sessions, and complete all required paperwork for the MVA online. For every Linganore student who registers for one of their packages through December 31, 2013, I Drive Smart will donate $25 to the LHS Sports Boosters. The exam registration period for fall and yearlong AP classes will be held the week of December 2-6. Students must return their completed registration form along with the exam fee of $89 per exam to Ms. Smith in the assistant principal’s office. Fee waivers are available for any student who demonstrates financial need. If your family requires assistance with the exam fee, the completed waiver form must be returned with the registration form.

The Lady Lancers club is holding a Cinderella’s closet drive. Drop off any gently used clothes from now until December 3rd at Ms. Ferguson’s office. The clothes will be sold at a discounted price at Lancer Candy Cane Lane on December 7th. The money and any extra clothing will be donated to a local charity.
