The 76 – 67 victory over TJ is all it took for Linganore to move onto the sectionals. The team was able to keep the Patriots at a 10 point distance throughout the entire game.

Both teams started the game playing to their maximum abilities, making the first quarter an exciting one to watch. Harry Rasmussen, # 25, had to fight hard to get every rebound against the aggressive Patriots. Austin Lohneis, # 3 was also able to excel on the perimeter. The quarter ended with a score of 11- 16, with a Lancer lead.

During the second quarter the intensity did not vary from the first quarter. Linganore was not caught off guard by their opponent. When Rasmussen felt a double team, he would kick it back out to a guard for a 3 pointer. Drew Twillman, # 23,  was able to find every gap in the defense and shoot when he was open. Linganore ended the half ahead with a score of 25 – 35.

The second half was played closer than the first. Linganore came out and handled the pressure like the superb athletes they are. The extra pressure that comes from a playoff game was not a setback for the Lancers. Ending the quarter 48 – 44.

“We have had success preparing and practicing the way we do, so we are going to keep trusting that routine,” said Twillman.

The preparation Linganore took was enough for them to come out on top. Rasmussen ended the game with 21 points. Six of those points were from his 3 point shots. Also hitting two 3 pointers was Twillman. He ended the game with 16 points.

Linganore plays Thursday at six at Tuscarora. Come out and support your Linganore Lancers!
