Sweeping the nation by dance storm, Ed Sheeran’s new song “Shape of You” has become the new national dance complication.  From professional studios to high school dance classes, dancers everywhere are coming up with new groovy moves to go along with the song.

Linganore’s dance class is no exception, having put together their own personal touches to the song. Using some choreography from Millennium Dance Complex’s video, five dancers were chosen and each got to put their own spin on the dance moves.

“I think doing the video was a lot of fun. We all worked hard together and really focused on the meaning of the music to choose the choreography. Overall I think the video turned out really well,” said senior Lexi Watson.

Watson suggested the idea to her dance teacher, Angela Smithhisler.  The two agreed that this would be a great way to promote the dance class to students who don’t know about it.

“I think the video to a popular song was a perfect opportunity to get the word out about how cool the dance classes are here.  This just shows that it’s not all about learning from a book. It’s about getting out there and doing it,” said Smithhisler.
