On April 25, Varsity girls lacrosse was defeated 15-13 moving their record to 2-7. The Lancers have beat Catoctin and Governor Thomas Johnson High Schools.  The Lady Lancers played a strong first half and were ahead 8-4.

Member of the class of 2021 Bridget Curtis was on the draw control and came away with four draws.

Curtis said, “While we didn’t come up with a win, we learned a lot about ourselves and never turned on each other. Most importantly, we never gave up.”

The girls played a tough game and gave all they had.

Senior captain, Bre Wade said, “Even though we lost, we were determined not to give up. We were in this game together as a team.”

The goals were spread out throughout the night, senior captain Grace Weaver had one goal;  junior captain Adriana D’Amore had three goals; junior Shae Stewart had three; sophomore Mary Britton had three goals, freshman Emily Cole has one goal, and freshman Bridget Curtis had two.

The team is comprised of 17 girls: Mary Britton, Emily Cole, Bridget Curtis, Emily Daly, Adriana D’Amore, Lily Einsenhart, Olivia Geisler, Hannah Lemen, Bridget Murphy, Cassie Nalepa, Madison Spitale, Brae Steel, Shae Stewart, Bre Wade, Rocky Weltman, and Anna Young.

The rest of the season includes:

Oakdale vs. Linganore @LHS at 7 p.m.

Manchester Valley vs. Linganore@ LHS at 7 p.m. (Senior Night)

Linganore vs. Urbana @ UHS at 7 p.m.
