Safe and Sane is an event held directly after graduation for the seniors to have fun while being safe, and serves as a celebration of their newfound freedom. Planning for this event at Knott Arena takes a lot of money and manpower.

On  March 31, the Linganore Safe and Sane committee hosted one of their biggest event fundraisers, a bingo night at the Libertytown Fire Hall.

Participants played 25 regular rounds, along with three special rounds where players had to spell out LHS.

Players had the chance to win assorted bags, some themed and filled with goodies. There were also designer bags and purses, including Vera Bradley and Coach.

There was a $1000 raffle which was won by the Honchalk family; however, the family donated all of their winnings back to the Safe and Sane event.

There was a large turnout for this event, with many local members of the community coming together for a fun, exciting, and competitive night of bingo to support the class of 2017.

Safe and Sane will be held on May 31, immediately following the graduation ceremony.
