The third annual Quidditch Tournament will be held Wednesday, May 17th.  Teams of 7-9 can sign up in the Media Center. Teams must have at least two of each gender playing at all times. Cost is $25 per team.  There are a limited number of teams allowed, so sign-up early. If you have any questions, see Ms. Thompson in the Media Center.

The Urbana Library is hosting a Star Wars Lock-In on Friday, May 5th, from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The event features an escape room and a scavenger hunt created by Surelocked In of Frederick. Costumes are encouraged.  For more information, see Ms. Thompson in the Media Center.

The SGA has a donation box in the front of the cafeteria at every lunch shift for the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life”.  For every dollar that is donated, each person receives a chance to win two Shawn Mendes tickets. You have until Friday, May 12th, to donate.

Attention art students from first semester:  Please stop by and see your art teacher by Friday, May 12th, to pick up artwork that was in the art show.

The journalism class is hosting a contest for seniors to win concert tickets!  Come to room C203 and answer seventeen questions for the Class of 2017, with the theme of “Oh, the places you’ll go!”

The NHS basketball game has been moved to Friday, May 5th.  Admission is:  two canned food items and the game starts at 6:00 pm.

Attention AP US history students:  Mr. Hines will be holding another before and after school tutoring session tomorrow, May 3rd, in preparation for the AP test this Friday.  The before school session will be held from 6:15-7:15 am and the after school session will be between 2:15-3:15 pm. They will be reviewing the LEQ and DBQ process. As usual, there will be a review during PREP tomorrow, as well.

And now for sports related news…

Congratulations to the Unified Track team for their performance at the County Track Meet.  The team placed 2nd in the Monocacy Division. Austin Flickinger placed first in the 100 meter and the turbo javelin. Jon Massey placed third in the 200 meter. The relay team of Victoria Cowan, Brenna Lindsay, Jon Massey and Austin Flickinger placed first in the 4×100 relay.

Last night, both the baseball and softball teams beat TJ. The baseball score was 3-0 and softball won 15-13.

Both tennis teams also beat TJ. Both teams won 5-0.

Tonight, the girls lacrosse teams will play Manchester Valley at home. The JV game starts at 5:30 pm and the Varsity game begins at 7:00 pm.
