News for January 12, 2017

There is no PREP today due to the delayed opening.   Also, we will not have PREP Thursday or Friday because of HSA exams in government and biology.

Attention sophomores and juniors:  Because of the two hour delay this morning, the Dual Enrollment Informational Session scheduled for PREP today has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 17th, during PREP.  Please report to your PREP teacher for attendance then proceed to the auditorium for the assembly.  During this session, you will receive information on Accuplacer testing and possible courses that will be offered next year.  Use this information to start planning for your future!

The Government HSA exam is tomorrow, Thursday, January 12th.  Please review the rosters posted in the cafeteria or across from Mr. Brown’s room for your testing location.  Students testing in a morning session should report directly to their testing location at the beginning of school.  Students testing in the afternoon session should eat during first lunch and report directly to their testing location when dismissed from lunch.  Get a good night’s sleep and do your best!

Ms. Karlen’s, Ms. Rebetsky’s, Mr. Norko’s, and Ms. Kolias’ third block classes will eat during second lunch shift Thursday and Friday.

A quick announcement regarding fan behavioral expectations at athletic contests:  Here at Linganore High School, we have a very high standard of conduct that all students are expected to adhere to.  When you attend a sporting event, you represent the entire Linganore community, and at no time should actions or behaviors take away from what is taking place on the field or court. Our athletes deserve respect for their efforts.  At no time should students in the stands target opposing players, teams, or officials with negative chants or jeers in an effort to belittle them or their performance.  These actions are wholly inappropriate, paint LHS and the community in a negative light, and will not be permitted.  Students who cannot adhere to these standards will be removed from the game and determined to be conduct ineligible for a calendar month.  This means that they will not be able to attend after school events in which LHS students participate in Frederick County.  This includes games, performances, and dances.

That’s all we have for you today.  Make it a great day, Linganore.
