News for February 15, 2017

by Lancer Media

Class of 2020 will not be meeting this Friday, February 17th.

Listen up and pay attention Linganore students:  It is very possible that among our student body, there is an up and coming star. If you have absolutely no talent whatsoever, this event is for you. The Drama Club is hosting the No-Talent Talent Show, a lip syncing, air band extravaganza. Try-outs will be held after school on Friday, February 17th, in room D101. Come to try-outs with a few song ideas and your band members.

Women in Science and Engineering meetings are back in full swing for the second semester!  Please join us this evening at the Earth Space Science Laboratory from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm. Our featured guest speaker is a senior environmental engineer at Lockheed Martin.  For more information about WISE, talk to any science teacher.

The National Art Honor Society is sponsoring a paint night here at LHS on Thursday, February 23rd, at 6:00 pm in room A211.  The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for students.  All art supplies will be provided and snacks, too.  Please contact Ms. Geisser in room A207.

Reminder to all Advanced Placement students: Your exam registrations are due to Mrs. Smith in the AP Office by this Friday, February 17th.

And now for sports related news…

Last night, JV boys’ basketball beat Frederick 51-38. The boys’ Varsity had a close game, but lost 59-50, and girls’ Varsity lost 52-40.
