Nominations are requested for American Legion Boys’ State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls’ State. Only juniors can be considered for Boys’ State or Girls’ State which is the premier program for teaching students how government works, while developing leadership skills and an appreciation for your rights as a citizen. This exciting and fun summer program runs June 18–24, 2017. Boys’ State will be held at McDaniel College and Girls’ State will be held at Salisbury University. If you are interested in attending this all expenses paid camp, see Ms. Emery in Student Services no later than Friday, February 17th.

Attention new inductees to Rho Kappa:  Mr. Burch has shared a Google doc with you where Rho Kappa would like you to share biographical information about yourself, like your favorite quotes, future plans and favorite social studies class.  Please check your FCPS email for the document for you to edit.

Three Linganore students are finalists in the Delaplaine Bettie Awards. The ten finalists each receive $100.00 and compete for the grand prize of $1,000.00.  Their work will be on display at the Delaplaine Art Center during the month of March.  Congratulations to Elise Fenstermacher, Allison Eckloff and Kelsey Wiegand.

Reminder to all Advanced Placement students: Your exam registrations are due to Mrs. Smith in the AP Office by Friday, February 17th.

The Junior Class is having a fundraiser at Chipotle in Mt. Airy today from 4:00-9:00 pm.  Pick up a flyer in Student Services to turn in when you pay for your meal.  Help the Class of 2018 with their Prom 2017 efforts!

Friday night, the boys’ basketball teams took down Urbana. The JV score was 66-61 and the Varsity score was 61-46.
