The varsity girls soccer team ended their 2015-2016 season with an almost perfect record, with only one loss to South Carol High school. The team made it all the way to the state finals against Belair.

The team scrimmaged Quince Orchard High School on August 24 and came out on top,  6-0. Meanwhile, the JV team looked like their chances of winning against QO were slim, but after the halftime break they made a comeback and landed a win with the score of 5-2.

Facing Smithsburg High School for their next scrimmage on August 27, the girls rallied and won the game with a score of 3-0. Miranda Keaton had two goals within the first 3 minutes of the game and Haley Barge landed one goal for the team.

After their strong win against Smithsburg High School, the Lancers then faced Waynesboro High School on August 27. With the help of Marie Tapscott’s goal, they won the game with a score of 1-0.

Varsity player Miranda Keaton said,  “I’m really glad to be playing high school soccer again.” She’s excited for soccer in her senior year.

Come out and support the teams at their first games  on September 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Westminster High School.
