Monday April 18th and Tuesday April 19th, students had the opportunity to participate in the Character Counts program by writing their names and/or a name of a peer on one of the six “pillars of character:” Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, or Citizenship.  By doing so, students were able to share the good character of others with the rest of the school.

Class of 2017 member, Emily Nemeth placed her name under the “Fairness” column, as she feels she, “never judges a book by its cover.”  For each name students place on the Character Counts wall, they received a Character Counts bracelet of their choice, as well as Smarties®.

Ms. Aburto has directed the Character Counts wall for the past two years. She feels that the wall is an important annual event at Linganore, as “students can make an impact by recognizing the good character they, as well as their peers, exhibit every day.”

If you were unable to participate this year, make sure to keep an eye out for Ms. Aburto and her Character Counts wall next year.
