Lancers arrow down the Hawks: Photo of the Day 4/10/16
Kayleigh Day leads the Lancers from the mound in another victory over Urbana 7-2.
On Friday April 8, the Lancers were supposed to host the Hawks at home at 4:30, but the game was moved to Urbana.
Despite being on hostile territory, the Lancers came out with a big win, 7-2. The Hawks were the only regular season loss that the Lancers had last year.
Pitcher Kayleigh Day had a big game, striking out five players with her frightening change up.
The Hawks took the lead in the first three innings, but the Lancers battled through it. Their bats finally woke up in the fourth inning with a game total of 12 hits, which translated to seven runs for the Lancers.
Kennedi Ambush had two runs. Lauryn Lovewell, Cailyn Bartholow, Shylo Arneson, Paige Wilhelm, and Kayleigh Day all scored once.
The weather was an enemy of both teams with wind blowing wildly throughout the whole game.
Come out and support these ladies at home on Wednesday at 4:30 against Oakdale and Thursday, April 15 at 4:00 against Frederick.
