Linganore held their annual Holiday Concert on December 1, 2016 hosted by conductors Mr. Kevin Lloyd and Mr. Damon Dye.

The 2016 concert featured the Guitar Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Concert Choir, Concert Band, and Merry TubaChristmas.

This concert was sprung with as much holiday spirit as possible. All of the Concert Band’s instruments were decorated for the season and the brass section donned adorable Santa Claus hats. Snow even fell from the rafters in the Band and Choir’s last performance together of ‘White Christmas.’

The Percussion Ensemble started the night with three songs conducted entirely with musical bells, which simply looked ‘Christmas-y.’

Shortly following was one of the highlights of the night: the Guitar Ensemble featured a stellar performance by Austin Dye, who was the vocals of their last song “Hallelujah.” Dye was singing this song alongside conductor Lloyd.

Additionally, the Concert Choir had a strong show with a total of 10 songs sung. No denying they struck home with their conduction of ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘The World for Christmas,’ which were crowd favorites.

The Concert Band opened up their performance strong with “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Erin Blache, third clarinet, Class of 2019, said about the song: “‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ was difficult to tackle, but in the end sounded completely fantastic.”
