On January 13th, the auditorium lights dimmed and 15 students dressed in white shirts and dark pants in the Advanced Theater Production class quietly walked on stage.

Governor Hogan had challenged schools in the state of Maryland to devise work that raises awareness of opioid and heroin use among youth. This was a result of a report from the Heroin-Opioid Emergency Task force.

Linganore accepted that challenge.

For months, Julian Lazarus’ ATP class has been writing, directing, and rehearsing their own show called “Less Than 30 Days,” and last night they performed it for the first time.

They used real stories from people they had interviewed to portray what happens in the lives of heroin users and the people around them.

Most people who came last night were moved, given the emotion and reality of the show.

“I believe the show was very well executed and I enjoyed the way they mixed in actual facts with the story. It was very hard hitting and emotional. The ATP class did an amazing job putting the whole thing together,” said sophomore Hannah Haught.
