LHSsees2020: Hannah Hoefs follows her college dreams onto the field
“Getting an athletic scholarship to play at my dream school was something I could never pass up.”
Senior Hannah Hoefs will be playing soccer for the college of her dreams this fall, the University of Maryland. After growing up a dedicated Maryland fan, Hoefs had no doubt when picking a college.
“A lot of my family attended the university, so I grew up a huge Maryland fan. Getting to be a part of something I once cheered for as a young kid made it an easy decision.”
Hoefs loves the size of the school and the opportunity to meet new people, as well as the location. “I love how close it is to DC and home.”
Knowing she will be at UMD to receive a quality education, Hoefs will be majoring in kinesiology to become a nutritionist or personal trainer.
Hoefs is drawn to this field because it will allow her to be connected to athletes and the sports world. “After my athletics career is over I will still be around sports and help athletes during their career.”
