Mrs. Michelle Gilmore is the new Assistant Principal at our school for last names starting with O-Z, is the Dean of students for the dual enrollment courses, and is in charge of clubs and activities.

Mrs. Gilmore was born in raised in Frederick, Maryland and has lived here her whole life. Although most of her family lives in Hershey, PA. She has two brothers and a sister, and has a living grandma who is 106!!! She is married to Mr.Gilmore who substitutes here sometimes and is a soccer coach at Hood College. They met through a group of friends and have been married for 7 years.

Mrs. Gilmore graduated from Frederick High school and continued her education at Mount St. Mary’s for her undergrad, then graduated from Hood College with her Masters in Mathematics.

Her first job was being a sales clerk at the Bon-Ton when she was 14 years old.

Mrs. Gilmore realized education was her calling when she became a long-term substitute Math teacher, which is when she got her first a permanent teaching  job at Tuscarora in the Mathematics Department.

If she wasn’t a teacher or an administrator working for a school system she would want to be in the field of Mathematics.

Before she took this job, she was a math teacher for 10 years at Tuscarora High School, she taught all math and her favorite math to teach was statistics and AP statistics. She was also an assistant principal at Thomas Johnson High School.

She was moved to Linganore because as an administrator they move you around but she is happy to be here at Linganore because we have lots of pride and she did SGA at Tuscarora and she heard that we have a huge SGA here.

She’s eager to be a part of the Lancer community because of the school pride and how big our SGA is. She is excited to go to school events, sports, band, drama and all of the extracurricular activities.

When she was in high school, she was never in a specific crowd but she was a cheerleader and was a part of the SGA. Her favorite teacher was her physics teacher because he related to the kids and was enthusiastic about teaching.

If a movie were to describe her personality it would be Steel Magnolias which was filmed in 1989, directed by Herbert Ross and is a movie about friendship. She relates to this movie most because she has experienced friendships from high school last a long time as they did in the movie because her high school friends are still her friends now.

When Mrs. Gilmore has free time she likes to bake, spend time with family, and go to the beach as much as possible.

Mrs. Gilmore looks forward to making this 2016-2017 year one to remember and the Lancers are ready to help her with that, Welcome Mrs.Gilmore!
