News for June 14, 2016

by Lancer Media

Good morning, Linganore.

Today is Flag Day.  The stars on our flag represent the fifty states in our union.  The thirteen stripes, seven red and six white, are for the original thirteen colonies, and the fifty stars represent all the states in the United States of America.  The colors in the flag also have significant meaning:  Red is for Valor and Hardiness; White is for Innocence and Purity; and Blue is for Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.

All students are responsible for cleaning out their lockers of all personal possessions prior to leaving school on Thursday, June 16th.  Beginning Friday, June 17th, all lockers will be cleaned out and all personal property of students will be held in the front office “Lost and Found” for two weeks.  After two weeks, any unclaimed items will be donated to a charitable organization.

Forget to buy a yearbook?  Extra yearbooks are still available for purchase!  Please see Mrs. Bozzonetti in room A206.  The price is $75.00, cash or check, payable to LHS only.

Attention boys’ cross country team:  We will have an informational meeting today in room C224 at 2:30 pm to discuss the upcoming racing season. All athletes who are interested in running for the Cross Country team next fall should attend. See Coach Wright with any questions.

Have a great day, Linganore!
