Time is running out to pre-order your 2017 yearbook at the discounted price of $70. Orders must be received through Herff Jones by December 31st. Order forms were mailed home, or you may pick up a flyer outside of room A206 with ordering information.  See Mrs. Bozzonetti with questions.  Yearbooks will be available ONLY until January 20th to be pre-ordered at the price of $75.  After that, no more orders will be accepted. Seniors, this is the last chance to order and receive your name printed on the cover. There will be a limited supply available at the end of the year at an increased price. So don’t wait, order your yearbook today!

The National English Honor Society encourages all students to write “Santagrams” to send to your friends, staff members or classmates. Pick up a postcard outside of room C203 and, after you finish you message, drop the postcard in the mailbox outside of room C203.

A reminder that the Egg Nog Jog has been postponed to this Friday, December 23rd.  You can still register to be a part of the fun and participate in the race.  There are lots of great door prizes, including some that are just for Linganore students.  See any SGA member at lunch or check out the website www.lancereggnogjog.com  to register.

Would you like to be Mister Linganore 2017?  If so, there will be an informational meeting tomorrow, December 20th, in room C101, at 2:30 pm.  All details will be given at that time.  Any questions, or can’t make it?  See Mr. Brown or Mrs. Rebetsky for the information.

A representative from the Academy of Fine Arts at TJ High School will be visiting Linganore during PREP on Tuesday, December 20th.  The AFA program is for visual and performing arts students who are interested in more advanced study and possibly a career in the arts.  Interested students may speak with any of our art, music or drama teachers to sign up for this opportunity.  The meeting will take place in the band room, D105, tomorrow during PREP.

Attention band, orchestra and chorus students:  How would you like to travel to Europe over the summer and perform concerts with other high school students from our region?  American Music Abroad provides this opportunity for hundreds of high school musicians each year.  To find out more, attend an informational meeting in the Linganore High School band room this Wednesday, December 21st, at 7:00 pm with a representative from American Music Abroad.  See Mr. Lloyd for a brochure and more information.

Attention members of the Science National Honor Society:  Your national dues are due today!

Did you know that one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime? Help raise awareness for domestic violence this Thursday, December 22nd, by wearing pajama pants. Also, there is STILL a pajama drive going on. Please donate new pajamas to the cafeteria from now until Thursday, December 22nd.

Lancer Media’s friend, Elfie, is hiding somewhere in Linganore. If you can tell us where he is in the daily picture, you will be entered in a daily contest.  If you win the daily contest, you will be entered in the weekly drawing for a gift card. And now for sports related news…

Any girl or boy interested in playing for the Varsity tennis team this spring needs to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, December 20th, in room A139, at 2:20 pm.

The boys’ basketball teams will be playing Tuscarora tonight at home, while the girls’ basketball teams will play Tuscarora at Tuscarora.  JV plays at 5:30 pm and Varsity plays at 7:00 pm.

At 6:00 pm, there will be a Varsity wrestling match against Brunswick at Brunswick High School.

Also at 6:00 pm, there will be a Varsity swimming and diving meet for both the boys’ and girls’ teams against Oakdale at Walkersville High School.
