Linganore football resumes play against Tuscarora after Friday night’s lightning delay

by Abigail Montgomery, Editor

The Friday night lights were shining down on Linganore once more as the Lancer Varsity football team kicked off their season at home against Tuscarora.  Hundreds of fans packed the stands last night to start the football season off right and The Tribe led Linganore’s student section for the first time this year.

The Lancers scored for the first time this season early in the first quarter after Musselman (#7) threw an 18 yard touchdown pass to Staub (#5) to put Linganore up 6-0.

Halftime found the Lancers leading Tuscarora 9-7.  Unfortunately, lightning began rolling in as the players stepped off the field and the stadium was evacuated as a safety precaution.  The game was postponed for the night and rescheduled for this morning.

Linganore and Tuscarora resumed play at 9 a.m.  After two quarters, the Lancers emerged victorious, winning their first game of the season with a score of 22-13.

Come out to the Lancer’s second game of the season on September 11 as they take on Indian River at home!
