Trumpeters play “Taps” to honor veterans: Photo of the Day 11/11/2015

To honor the veterans who have dedicated their lives for American freedom, the trumpet players in the Linganore Band scattered themselves throughout the school, and, at the end of second block, right before the bell, everyone played “Taps.”

November 11 is Veterans Day, a day set aside to honor those who have served our country, whether they still walk beside us or lost their lives in the fighting.

The trumpeters all learned “Taps” within a week of having to play it, taking a few minutes at the end of class or practice to learn the notes. They were conducted by drum majors Noah Ismael and Neesa Conlon, along with Kevin Lloyd, Damon Dye and Patrick O’Grady.

“The trumpet players were pleased to have the opportunity to honor our veterans by playing ‘Taps’ this morning,” Lloyd said.
