NHS helped out The Salvation Army at Giant located in Urbana. Also the Brotherhood M.C. and Santa Claus was there collecting food to give to members of the military.

The honor society had 23 members sign up for the first day of  volunteering over a course of 10 hours.

Members put extra holiday into the event by singing and dancing.

Junior Erin Lafferty said, “I loved ringing bells. We were able to help others and have a fun time singing Christmas songs. I can’t wait to do it again.”

NHS members estimated they raised at lease $200 for the Salvation Army. People were so excited to see teens ringing the bells.

Junior Erika Kosar said, “I thought it was pretty fun! It was better that it was nice weather, but I like how nice everyone was to us and how considerate and thankful they were for us doing what we were doing.

They will also be two more days that they will be ringing the bells at Giant in Urbana on December 12th, and the 19th  from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Show your support to LHS and give back to your community before the holiday,
