The Linganore community reached the first goal! Mr. Dan Lake will wear an ugly toupee tomorrow.

After a second day of fundraising for Quarters for Cancer, the SGA reports that it has collected close to $250.

Quarters for Cancer, organized by Key 103 Radio, is a fundraiser for Relay for Life that began this week and will continue through February 27th. The Frederick County high school that donates the most money for the charity during the contest period will “Win a DJ” to play music at lunch. Our SGA has a goal of raising a total of $1,000, and has extra incentives for students to donate.

The following teachers have agreed to participate in entertaining activities as each level is achieved:

  • $100- Mr. Lake will teach wearing a toupee
  • $250- Mr. Burch will teach wearing in a Ravens jersey
  • $500- Ms. Poffinberger will teach wearing 80’s prom dress
  • $750- Coaches Conner & O’Connor will anchor morning announcements in formal wear
  • $1,000- Mrs. Byrd, dressed as a bird, will sing in a nest

If the goal of $250 is met by the end of the day tomorrow, Mr. Aaron Burch will wear a Ravens jersey on Monday.

Students may donate coins, cash, or checks to the charity at all lunch shifts. Additionally, SGA advisor Jeremy Brown is accepting donations.
