Linganore students participate in “Bring Your Tractor to School Day.”

Today was the Class of 2015’s last day of school.  Ever.

As is unofficial tradition for their last day of high school, seniors come up with some creative ways to say goodbye to the Linganore faculty and underclassmen.  This year, Linganore’s parking lots became the stage for much of the fanfare.

Enthusiastic members of the  senior class arrived at the school the early hour of 4 a.m. to claim the top lot as their own.  Some students decided to ignore the designated parking spots and take up the student half of the lot with parking jobs that would probably fail them at the MVA.  This method of parking is not recommended for students and resulted in tickets for many of the drivers, as well as the risk of danger in case of an emergency.

Not all of the parking lot shenanigans stirred up trouble, however.

Student drivers arriving at LHS were greeted by enthusiastic members of the senior class, who were waving flags as if they were at NASCAR race.  They also did Linganore students the courtesy of directing the flow of traffic between the two parking lots.  Seniors were free to park in the top lot.  Underclassmen?  They were directed to Linganore’s bottom parking lot where nearly every space was filled.

It was also Linganore’s annual “Bring Your Tractor To School Day.”  Students in Linganore’s agricultural community allowed extra time to get to school as they drove their machinery to the Linganore’s top lot and parked it next to the random arrangement of senior vehicles.

Though they left the high school behind in their rearview mirrors, they will always carry memories of Linganore in their hearts.
