On Saint Patrick’s Day, the marching band made their way down 5th Ave in the NYC Saint Patrick’s Day parade. During the three-day trip, the band members visited the Empire State Building, the Statue Of Liberty, a Broadway production of On The Town, Chinatown, Times Square, and much more.

Sophomore clarinet player Bre Wade says, “It was very exciting traveling the city. It was a great experience seeing the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building.”

The Saint Patrick’s Day Parade has marched every year for 254 years with over two million spectators. Over 150,000 people march in the parade, from bands and bagpipe players, to other groups and organizations. The event is broadcast on local and national television.

The marching band takes this trip every other year. On alternating years, they go to Walt Disney World. This trip helps the teens learn more about culture and leadership, and it gives them an experience they will never forget.

Here is a video of the band’s part in the parade.
