News for Tuesday, September 16, 2014

There will be NO English E.L.O. today, but there will be math and biology E.L.O after school.

Attention all music students.. Anyone wishing to audition for All-County Band, Orchestra or Chorus, or All-State Band, Orchestra or Chorus, should sign up for more information and music in Mr. Lloyd’s room, D105 for band, or Mr. Dye’s room, D113 for chorus and orchestra. Audition music will be made available to students later this week.

Any choir students who want to audition for All-County Choir or All-State Choir need to see Mr. Dye in room D113 for application and required performance materials. All-State materials are due by Friday the 26th and All-County forms are due by the end of the month.

Any student who wants to join Linganore’s acapella singing group like on the hit television show “The Sing-Off” should plan on a first meeting after school next Thursday the 25th. Auditions will be held the next week on October 2nd so prepare something to sing and be ready to sight read some music.

Also, The Linganore Band would like to thank students for moving cars from the front lot on Tuesdays and Thursdays by 4:30 pm so that the band can practice.

We would like to remind those athletes who are leaving campus for away games to move your cars from the front lot before you leave for your game or match. Thanks again for your help, and the LHS Band wishes all of our sports teams a great fall season!

The robotics team will have a meeting in Mr. Bergeron’s room after school on Wednesday, September 17th, until 4:30.

If you took any ceramics classes during the last spring semester
please come pick up any work you have may have left behind!

The Unified Tennis team will have practice today from 2:45-3:45 p.m.

Congratulations to the LHS Golf Team on their victory over Tuscarora yesterday. Ryan Gilmartin was the Medalist shooting a 40. The Lancers remain undefeated.

Unfortunately our girls field hockey teams lost their games last night to the defending state championship team. JV with 3-0 and Varsity with 5-2.

Come out tonight to support our girls soccer teams against Frederick. JV starts at 5:30 and Varsity starts at 7. Good luck lancers!
