Amy Darragh painted faces for elementary school students from Green Valley, Kemptown, and New Market at the community show.

The annual community show, a long-standing LHS tradition, was held October 6 – 8 in the main gym.  Students, staff, and community members entered home-grown produce, home arts, flowers, and other hand-made/grown products, similar to the types of entries in a county fair.  The highlight of the event is the annual cake auction.  This year, Mrs. Sue Roderick baked the grand champion chocolate pound cake. It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. It was auctioned for $800 to a person from the Mountain Gate Restaurant. On Tuesday, students from local elementary schools came to LHS and made fall-themed crafts, enjoyed face painting, and learned about agriculture in the community.  The annual community show is produced by Mrs. Pat Beachy, Mr. Tom Hawthorne, agri-science students, the FFA and the volunteer efforts of community members.
