The senior class is selling candy canes in all lunch shifts on Wednesday and Thursday! Each candy cane is $1 and will be distributed to first period classes on Friday. Don’t miss out on your chance to wish your friends a happy holiday season!

Linganore’s Annual Egg Nog Jog will be held December 21st at 9am. The cost of registration is $10, or a donation of a new toy or game. Race shirts are also available for $15 each. All proceeds and donations will go to the local chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A generous Linganore 2001 graduate will also match all donations to the Egg Nog Jog up to 10K. Read more and register for the race. For any questions, see Mr. Brown or a member of our SGA.

Congratulations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club! They will be acknowledged as the December Character Counts Club of the Month for all their generous and kind work done in the community and abroad. The FCA participated in the Samaritans Purse Shoebox Campaign, where they packed shoeboxes full of Christmas goodies (toys, school/art supplies, hygiene supplies, candy & clothing) and the boxes were shipped to children around the world. The FCA also volunteered at PTSA’s Candy Lane spreading holiday cheer! At every club meeting the students pass around a collection jug collecting loose change, and at the end of the year, the money will be donated to charity of their choice.

There will be secondary auditions for students wishing to be featured as lip dubbers. Students will be allowed to lip sync to any song of their choice. Auditions will be held in room B204 at 2:30 next Wednesday the 18th.

There will be a preseason informational meeting for all boys interested in playing lacrosse this spring. The meeting will be held tomorrow, December 17th, in the media center after school at 2:30 PM. If you cannot attend the meeting, be sure to sign up on the sheet outside of Room C209.

The JV Basketball teams dominated South Carroll last Friday night. The boys took home a score of 44-39, and the girls took home a score of 32-29. Great job Lancers!

I Drive Smart, a driver-education company offering classes in our area, has partnered with the LHS Sports Boosters. I Drive Smart employs police officers to provide 100% of their instruction. The I Drive Smart program is extremely safety-oriented and offers a stress-free experience for busy parents, with the ability to register, schedule (and reschedule) all sessions, and complete all required paperwork for the MVA online. For every Linganore student who registers for one of their packages through December 31, 2013, I Drive Smart will donate $25 to the LHS Sports Boosters. Enter Linganore as your child’s school during registration to ensure a donation to the LHS Sports Boosters.
