Hey Lancers, as you know, Linganore football has had a terrific season so far and is now ready to take on Franklin at the 3A state championships tonight at M&T bank stadium! We’d like to see all you lancers come out and show your support by wearing red.
Key Club will be hosting its annual holiday fiesta on December 10th from 5-7 pm. There will be food and games. Admission is a canned food item or a toy. Come out and spend a fun filled evening with your friends and the Key Club
It has been brought to our attention that many of you don’t know what a lip dub is. Well, this is a lip dub: Students will line the halls as a select group of students, known as “lip dubbers” will lip sync to various songs. If you are interested in being one of the “lip dubbers” in our upcoming lip dub this year, be sure to sign up as soon as possible. The Character Counts Committee would like to announce its 2nd annual Community Character Counts Holiday Drive. Our “Warming the Lancer Spirit Giving Tree” is up and ready to decorate! Students, staff and our LHS community are invited to donate new hats, gloves, scarves, mittens and slippers to decorate our giving tree. The tree is located in the front office. All donations will be given to Linganore families in need over this winter season. Donations accepted until Dec. 18th. Applications are now being accepted for the Social Studies Historical Society , until Friday December 20th. Any Juniors and Seniors who have completed 4 Semesters of Social Studies may apply. You must also have an un-weighted 3.5 GPA in Social Studies courses as well as a 3.25 overall unweighted GPA. The annual Holiday Concert at Linganore High School, originally scheduled for today, has been postponed. The new concert date is Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 7:00. Featuring the LHS Concert Choir, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Merry Tuba Christmas! Tickets are $5 and will be available at the box office on the evening of the performance.
I Drive Smart, a driver-education company offering classes in our area, has partnered with the LHS Sports Boosters. I Drive Smart employs police officers to provide 100% of their instruction. The I Drive Smart program is extremely safety-oriented and offers a stress-free experience for busy parents, with the ability to register, schedule (and reschedule) all sessions, and complete all required paperwork for the MVA online. For every Linganore student who registers for one of their packages through December 31, 2013, I Drive Smart will donate $25 to the LHS Sports Boosters. The exam registration period for fall and yearlong AP classes will be held the week of December 2-6. Students must return their completed registration form along with the exam fee of $89 per exam to Ms. Smith in the assistant principal’s office. Fee waivers are available for any student who demonstrates financial need. If your family requires assistance with the exam fee, the completed waiver form must be returned with the registration form.
